Back to newsWeather conditions across Crete on June 4 are typical for early summer. Temperatures are expected to reach around 26 to 29 degrees Celsius in coastal areas, with slightly cooler conditions inland and at higher elevations such as the Lasithi Plateau and the White Mountains. Skies will be mostly clear with light northerly winds, known locally as the meltemi, which may pick up in the afternoon along northern and eastern coastlines. Sea conditions are generally calm, making beach and water activities comfortable throughout the day. Visitors planning to hike popular routes such as the Samaria Gorge should start early to avoid midday heat. Sun protection, including sunscreen and a hat, is strongly recommended. No significant weather disruptions to transport or ferry services are expected.
