Back to newsRoad safety works are currently underway along the BOAK highway near Nopigeia, on the section between Chania and Kissamos in western Crete. Warning cones have been placed in the middle of the road surface, narrowing lanes and altering traffic flow through the area. Drivers traveling between Chania and Kissamos should expect reduced speeds and possible delays in this stretch. If you are renting a car and planning to visit Kissamos, the Gramvousa peninsula, or Balos lagoon, allow extra travel time and follow the on-road signage carefully. The works are part of ongoing infrastructure improvements to the BOAK highway, which is being upgraded to improve safety across its full length.
