Back to newsA section of paving stones has come loose near the entrance of the Venetian Harbor in Chania, in the area known as the old "chains" (Alysides). The damaged pavement creates a tripping hazard for pedestrians walking along this popular waterfront route. Visitors exploring the historic harbor should watch their step in this area and exercise caution, particularly at night or when the ground is wet. The issue was reported by a local resident. No timeline for repairs has been announced. The Venetian Harbor is one of Crete's most visited landmarks, and this stretch of the old port entrance sees heavy tourist foot traffic throughout the summer season.
