Kissamos Street Traffic Restrictions Extended Through Thursday

Tuesday, 5 May 2026/SourceHaniotika Nea/1 min read
Traffic restrictions on Kissamos Street in Chania have been extended through Thursday, according to an announcement by the Greek Police (ELAS). The Chania Police Directorate issued the decision to prolong the existing traffic management measures along this route. Kissamos Street is a key road connecting central Chania with the western part of Crete, including the town of Kissamos (Kastelli) and popular destinations such as Balos Lagoon and Falasarna Beach. Tourists driving westward from Chania should expect possible delays, lane restrictions, or detours along this corridor until Thursday. If you are planning a day trip to western Crete, allow extra travel time and follow instructions from traffic officers on site. Check with your accommodation or car rental provider for the most up-to-date local routing advice before departing.
