The Municipality of Heraklion and the Vikelaia Municipal Library have received a donation of historical archives related to victims of Nazism in Crete. The donation consists of copies of two folders containing legal documents and handwritten notes documenting individuals who suffered under Nazi occupation during World War II. The Vikelaia Municipal Library, located in central Heraklion, is one of the oldest and most important libraries in Greece and holds significant collections related to Cretan history. These newly donated materials add to its archive of wartime records. Visitors interested in Cretan history and the island's experience during the Axis occupation can visit the Vikelaia Library at Hortatson Street in Heraklion. The library is generally open on weekdays and entry is free.
