Back to newsThe cruise ship Azura docked at Souda Port in Chania this morning, bringing over 2,900 passengers ashore for a day visit. Souda is located approximately 7 km east of Chania old town and serves as the main cruise terminal for the region. With nearly 3,000 visitors arriving simultaneously, tourists already in Chania should expect higher foot traffic in the old town, the Venetian harbour area, and popular sites such as the covered market and the Archaeological Museum. Taxis and local buses connecting Souda port to the city centre may be busier than usual during morning and early afternoon hours. If you are planning to visit popular restaurants or shops in the old town today, arriving early or later in the afternoon is advisable, as day-trippers from cruise ships typically return to the vessel by early evening.
