Crete Weather: Cloudy Skies and Possible Showers Expected Wednesday

Tuesday, 12 May 2026/SourceCretaOne/1 min read
According to the Greek National Meteorological Service (EMY), Wednesday 13 May will bring cloudy skies to several regions of Crete and across Greece. Overcast conditions are expected to persist throughout the day, with possible light showers in some areas of the island. Temperatures will remain mild, typical for mid-May in Crete. Tourists should pack a light jacket or a thin waterproof layer for outdoor activities, particularly if planning hikes in the Samaria Gorge or visits to archaeological sites such as Knossos, where shade is limited and sudden weather changes can occur. Beach conditions may be less favourable than usual, though swimming remains possible. Driving conditions are not expected to be significantly affected. Visitors are advised to check updated forecasts before setting out, as Mediterranean weather in spring can shift quickly within a single day.
