Planned Power Outages in Chania May 11 for Infrastructure Maintenance

Monday, 11 May 2026/SourceCretaOne/1 min read
Planned power outages are scheduled for Monday, May 11 in parts of the Chania regional unit in western Crete, due to maintenance and infrastructure works by DEDDIE, the Greek electricity distribution network operator. The interruptions are temporary and limited to specific neighborhoods and villages within the Chania area. Tourists staying in affected zones may experience disruptions to air conditioning, charging facilities, and other electrical services during the outage windows. If you are in the Chania area today, check with your accommodation for the exact timing and whether backup power is available. Most hotels and larger properties have generators for essential services. The outages are planned and are expected to be resolved once the scheduled works are completed. No other regions of Crete are reported to be affected.
