Two fire engines with four firefighters responded rapidly to the scene. The Messara region is a major agricultural area in central-south Crete, popular with visitors exploring the Minoan site of Phaistos and the surrounding villages. The fire occurred outside the facility, and emergency services were on site quickly. Tourists traveling along the Moires road should expect possible temporary disruptions and are advised to follow directions from local authorities if passing through the area. No injuries have been reported. Road conditions may be affected near the incident site, so drivers heading toward the south coast should allow extra time or check for alternative routes before departing.
