4,400-Passenger Cruise Ship Arrives at Chania's Souda Port

Sunday, 26 April 2026/SourceCretaOne/1 min read
A large cruise ship carrying 4,400 passengers docked at Souda Port, near Chania, on Sunday morning at 11am. Souda is the main port serving the Chania region, located approximately 7 kilometers east of the city center. The vessel is currently operating Mediterranean routes and made Chania one of its stops. Visitors to Chania this Sunday should expect higher-than-usual crowds in the city's old town, harbor area, and popular sites such as the Venetian lighthouse and the covered market. Restaurants, shops, and taxis around the old port may be busier during daytime hours. Those planning to visit key attractions are advised to arrive early or later in the afternoon once cruise passengers typically return to their ship. Public parking near the waterfront may also be limited throughout the day.
