Arkalochori Marks International Workers' Day With Ceremony

On May 1st, International Workers' Day, a wreath-laying ceremony took place at the Statue of Soukatzi dis in Arkalochori, a town in the Minoa Pediadas municipality in central Crete. The ceremony was led by Nikos Manolakakis, secretary of the local Minoa Pediadas political organization, and carried an atmosphere of solemnity and remembrance. The event marked the symbolic significance of Labor Day as a day of historical struggles and social achievements. Arkalochori is located roughly 25 kilometers southeast of Heraklion and is accessible by car. The town is also known for its connection to the 2021 earthquake and ongoing recovery efforts.
