Coast Guard Rescues 300+ Migrants off Southern Crete

Greek coast guard and rescue services conducted multiple operations south of Crete over two days, intercepting more than 300 migrants at sea. One of the most recent arrivals involved 35 people detected during nighttime hours near Psari Forada, a remote area along the southern coastline. Rescue teams responded and brought those found to shore safely. These operations are ongoing and reflect broader migration patterns in the eastern Mediterranean. For tourists, the southern coastal areas of Crete may see increased coast guard and rescue vessel activity. Beach access in some remote southern locations could be temporarily affected during active operations.
