Mavros Molos beach

Mavros Molos (i.e. black jetty) beach is located just in front of Kissamos town, 36km west of Chania . Mavros Molos is a long bay, on which remains of the ancient port of Kissamos have been found.

It is the main beach of Kissamos town and hosts the most swimmers in the area. It's a great beach with fine sand and shallow water, ideal for families and children.

Next to the beach there are many cafes, restaurants and hotels. Umbrellas, sunbeds, lifeguard and showers are provided.

There are also some tamarisk trees, providing natural shade. West of Mavros Molos main beach, there is a smaller cove, which has pebbles and is rockier.

The cove is never crowded and is suitable for snorkeling.
