Chalavrianos Dam Lake

The dam of the Chalavrianos River is located in the rural area of Halavra in the district of Pano Archanes , south of mount Giouchtas , between the villages Houdetsi and Profitis Ilias . The Chalavrianos torrent, which feeds this artificial lake, is a tributary of the River Giofyros .

The lake was built in 2017 and has a capacity of about one million cubic meters. The water supplies the crops of the wider area, as well as the small town of Archanes .

The area is approached by a rural road from Vathipetro and is frequently damaged due to the loose grounds. On the way to the lake we come across two other small artificial ponds.
