Runners Ready for the Arkalochori Half-Marathon

The International Half-Marathon of Crete takes place this Sunday in Arkalochori, Heraklion. The event features multiple categories: a half-marathon of 21.1 kilometers, 10 km and 5 km races, a children's 1,000-meter race, and a 200-meter race for people with disabilities. Approximately 6,000 runners are expected to participate, including 1,000 athletes from 52 countries. The event, now in its tenth year, enjoys strong community support with around 750 volunteers. Organizers note that despite recent cold weather and rain affecting the island, interest in this year's race remains particularly high.
