The Chania Film Festival honors Hungarian composer, musician and actor Mihály Víg, longtime collaborator of late filmmaker Béla Tarr. The main tribute event features a 45-minute concert by Víg and an on-stage conversation with festival director Matthios Frantzesakis. The festival also presents screenings of acclaimed films by Tarr, including "Werckmeister Harmonies" and "Damnation," alongside workshops and a documentary portrait of Víg.
