1st Sculpture Symposium of Chania 2026

The 1st Sculpture Symposium of Chania 2026 celebrates contemporary Greek public sculpture. Held from September 15 to October 14, 2026, at the Park of Peace and Friendship, the event hosts iconic Greek sculptors from the 1930s–1940s generations. Artists will create works in public view, allowing residents and visitors to witness the artistic process. The event features public lectures, guided tours, and school visits. An October 8 roundtable at the Mediterranean Architecture Center explores the relationship between contemporary sculpture and architectural space. Works created will permanently remain in the city, forming the nucleus of a future Sculpture Park of Chania.
