Back to newsA minor earthquake measuring 3.2 on the Richter scale was recorded off the southern coast of Crete, near the village of Tsoutsouras in the Heraklion regional unit. Tsoutsouras is a small coastal settlement on the Libyan Sea, approximately 60 kilometers south of Heraklion city.
Earthquakes of this magnitude are common in Crete, which sits in one of the most seismically active zones in Europe.
