A magnitude 4.0 earthquake struck off the coast of Lasithi, in eastern Crete. The tremor was recorded in the waters near the Lasithi regional unit, a popular area for tourists visiting the Lassithi Plateau, Agios Nikolaos, and the eastern beaches. Earthquakes of this size are common in the region and rarely cause damage or injury. No tsunami warning was issued. Visitors in the area may have felt light shaking but can continue their activities normally.
