A 19-year-old man was found injured at the base of the Venetian Walls in Heraklion under unclear circumstances. A passing resident discovered him and contacted emergency services. He was transported to Venizelos Hospital, where he is currently in critical condition. The Venetian Walls are a popular landmark and walking route for visitors to Heraklion. Sections of the walls are elevated and uneven, with limited barriers in places.
