Coast Guard Rescues 35 Migrants, Including Pregnant Woman, off Crete

On Friday night, Greek coast guard and rescue services safely assisted 35 migrants who arrived by boat near Loutra, in the Heraklion district on the southern coast of Crete. Among those rescued were a pregnant woman and an infant. The operation was completed without incident. For tourists, this type of event occasionally occurs along Crete's southern coastline and is handled entirely by Greek authorities. It does not affect tourist areas, beaches, or infrastructure. Loutra is a quiet coastal area west of Heraklion city. No road closures or disruptions to ferry or airport services were reported in connection with this incident.
