Back to newsHeraklion MP Avgenakin has brought a formal request before the Greek Parliament, on behalf of tourism, business, and industry associations in Heraklion, asking that scheduled maintenance works on the Morozini Fountain be postponed. The Morozini Fountain, also known as the Lions Fountain, is a prominent 17th-century Venetian landmark located in Lions Square in the heart of Heraklion city center. The local organizations are pushing for the works to be delayed, likely to avoid disruption during the busy summer tourist season. Visitors planning to see the fountain should check for updates before visiting, as maintenance activity could temporarily affect access to the square. Lions Square remains one of the most visited spots in Heraklion and a popular meeting point near the city's main shopping and dining streets.
