The coastal road runs along the northern seafront of Heraklion and is a busy route used by both locals and tourists, particularly during summer months when traffic is heavier.
Visitors renting scooters or motorcycles in Crete are reminded to exercise caution on coastal roads, where traffic moves fast and conditions can change quickly.
