Back to newsA delegation of Indian tourism agents recently visited Chania as part of a collaborative initiative between the Association of Cretan Hospitality, the Region of Crete, and the Association of Tourist and Travel Agencies of Crete, organized alongside the Greek-Indian business community.
The agents toured Chania's old town, venetian harbor, and surrounding areas, experiencing the destination firsthand to better promote Crete to the growing Indian travel market. The visit is part of broader efforts to diversify Crete's international visitor base beyond traditional European markets.
For tourists, this signals increasing investment in Crete's visibility across new markets, which typically leads to more direct flight connections and tailored travel packages in the coming seasons. Chania remains one of Crete's most visited cities, with its historic harbor, narrow alleyways, and mix of Venetian and Ottoman architecture drawing visitors year-round.
