Disney Dream Docks in Chania for Historic First Visit

Sunday, 21 June 2026/SourceCretaOne/1 min read
The Disney Dream, one of Disney Cruise Line's flagship vessels, made its first-ever call to Chania on Sunday, docking at Souda port. The ship measures 340 meters in length and carries approximately 3,376 passengers, making it one of the largest cruise ships to visit the area. Souda port, located about 7 kilometers east of Chania's old town, serves as the main cruise terminal for the Chania region. Visitors arriving by cruise ship can reach the Venetian harbor and city center by taxi or local bus. The Disney Dream's visit signals growing interest from major cruise lines in western Crete as a destination, which may bring increased foot traffic to Chania's shops, restaurants, and historic sites on future port days. Travelers already in the area can expect busier conditions in the old town when large cruise ships are in port.
