Pefkias is an isolated and arid region of south Crete, located between the villages Rodakino and Plakias , 43km south of Rethymno . In this rugged landscape there are a few small beaches, secluded and which can be accessed by boat or via the asphalt track connecting Souda beach to Korakas beach .

The beaches, starting from east to west are Kokkinos Volakas , Stavri, Filadelfi, Parahoristra, Agios Antonios, Hohlakas, and Klimata . The main beach of Pefkias is located close to the bay of Souda and is called Kokkinos Volakas (Red rock) named after the reddish rock at its east end.

Beside the rock, there is a tiny beach with a small cave and a small colony of Cretan Date Palms , originating from the nearby Souda palmgrove. The beach is pebbly and with many rocks, making it ideal for fishing and snorkeling.

Moreover, there is no natural shade and you rarely find anyone else here, which makes it quite ideal for nudism. On the east, there is the smaller beach Stavri, similarly isolated and deserted.

In it you will probably not find anything or anyone else. Like the first, here you come through the same road linking Souda with Rodakino.
