Fotinari beach

Fotinari (or Foteinari) is located 37km south of Rethymno , between Plakias and the beach of Souda . There are two beautiful quiet beachesin a small bay with dense vegetation.

The rocky seabed is ideal for fishing and snorkeling. The two adjacent pebbly beaches are not organized, although you can find rooms and restaurants in close proximity.

The first beach that you see coming from Plakias (direction to Souda beach) is called Small Fotinari or Fotinaraki, since it’s a bit smaller than the next beach, which is the Big Fotinari. Both beaches are near the main road, which runs directly above the beaches.

There are two short stone paths, crossing two small woods, heading to the beach. Lastly, in Big Fotinari you can find shade under the surrounding tall rocks.
