The gate of Agios Andreas (St. Andrew) is located at the northwestern part of the bastion of Saint Andrew, in Heraklion Walls .

The gate was unfortunately destroyed in the early 20th century to open up the coastal road of Heraklion city , since the monuments had no value for the rulers of Heraklion. Today we only distinguish the southern part of the arched tunnel.

It was the bastion of St. Andrew, which was the weakest of the Venetian Walls, where the Venetian Rule in Crete ended.

From here the Ottomans entered the city after 21 years of siege, the longest in history.
