Agiasmatsi Cave is located northeast of the village Kapsodasos , on a steep slope at an altitude of almost 300m, with an impressive view of Frangokastelo plain. It can be accessed initially through a dirt road and then through a trail (15-20) starting from the position Xylou Seli .
The cave has a great archaeological significance, as it was used in antiquity as a sanctuary, as evidenced by the large number of devotives that have been identified. The findings date back from the prehistoric times to the beginning of the Roman Era.
Later on, it was a shelter for the locals, especially during the Ottoman Times. The cave is relatively small, but particularly rich in stalactites and stalagmites.
The entrance is small and immediately a small room with cave decor on the left is formed. To the right there is a narrow passage to a larger room with more impressive stalactites and stalagmites.
