Back to newsA major water pipe fault near the University Hospital of Heraklion (PaGNH) has been repaired following emergency works carried out by the Heraklion Municipal Water and Sewerage Authority (DEYAH). Crews worked continuously for over 24 hours to fix the damage, which disrupted water supply to thousands of residents and businesses across affected parts of the city. Water service is now being gradually restored to normal across the network. Tourists staying in hotels or rentals in Heraklion may have experienced low water pressure or temporary interruptions, but the situation is returning to normal. No action is required from visitors. If you are still experiencing issues at your accommodation, contact your host or hotel reception, as full restoration may be rolling out in stages across different neighbourhoods.
