For visitors, this initiative highlights the importance of looking for the "Crete/Kriti" PDO label when purchasing olive oil locally, as it guarantees origin and quality. Crete produces some of the world's finest extra virgin olive oil, and buying certified products at local markets or cooperatives in these areas supports genuine regional producers and ensures an authentic product.
