A civic group called "Active Citizens of Platanias" has filed a formal extrajudicial complaint against the Municipality of Platanias, the Vice Governor of Chania, the Region of Crete, and the Greek Ombudsman over the condition of roads in the Platanias area, on the northern coast of Crete west of Chania. The complaint signals ongoing frustration with road maintenance and infrastructure in this popular tourist destination. While no immediate road closures have been announced, visitors driving or cycling in the Platanias region should exercise caution on local roads, as some surfaces may be in poor condition. Platanias is a busy resort area with beaches, restaurants, and amenities frequented by tourists staying along the Chania coastal strip.
