Apokoronas Celebrates World Music Day with Traditional Cretan Music

The Traditional Music Association of Apokoronas "Charilaos," in partnership with the Municipality of Apokoronas and the charitable foundation "Agia Sofia," is organizing a musical event to mark World Music Day on Sunday, June 21. The event celebrates the rich traditional music heritage of the Apokoronas region, located in the Chania regional unit of western Crete. Apokoronas is known for its authentic Cretan villages, olive groves, and cultural traditions. Visitors staying in the Chania area, including nearby Vamos, Gavalochori, or Georgioupolis, may have the opportunity to attend and experience live traditional Cretan music, including the iconic lyra and laouto.
