Back to newsA serious road accident occurred on Sunday, July 12, in Hersonissos, a popular tourist area east of Heraklion. A car lost control, left the road, and collided with several parked vehicles. Three people were injured and emergency services, including ambulances and fire brigade crews, attended the scene.
Hersonissos is one of the busiest tourist destinations on the north coast of Crete, and this type of incident can cause temporary road disruption in the area. Visitors driving or taking taxis along the coastal road between Heraklion and Agios Nikolaos should anticipate possible delays and exercise caution, particularly on bends and in areas with heavy parking near the roadside. Driving carefully, keeping speeds low, and staying alert to local traffic conditions is strongly advised, especially during the busy summer season when roads are more congested than usual.
