Ten firefighters were dispatched to the scene to bring the blaze under control. Plakias is a popular destination for tourists visiting the south coast of Crete, known for its beach and relaxed atmosphere. The incident was contained at the harbor and does not appear to affect tourist access to the area. Visitors planning to visit Plakias by boat or spend time near the fishing port should be aware that emergency services were active in that area. No injuries or wider disruptions to the village have been reported at this stage.
