The tremor was recorded by Volcano Discovery and classified as very weak. Earthquakes of this magnitude are common in the eastern Mediterranean region and are generally not felt by people on the ground. No damage, injuries, or disruptions to infrastructure have been reported. Tourists staying in or around Heraklion and other parts of Crete should not be concerned. The island remains safe for travel and all normal activities. Crete sits in a seismically active zone, but events at this scale pose no risk to visitors or residents.
