Back to newsThe Ikos Kissamos resort has officially opened in western Crete, marking the largest single tourism investment in the island's history. Located near the town of Kissamos in the Chania regional unit, the luxury all-inclusive property joins the Ikos Collection brand, known for its upscale Mediterranean resorts. The development represents a significant boost to tourism infrastructure in western Crete, a region historically less visited than the more developed north coast around Heraklion and Elounda. Visitors to the area can expect improved local services and amenities as the resort begins operations. Kissamos is accessible from Chania city, approximately 40 kilometres to the east, and sits close to the Gramvousa peninsula and Balos lagoon, two of Crete's most popular natural attractions.
