The Municipality of Chania is hosting the 4th edition of the Alternative Tourism and Experiences Festival, branded "260KMemories Festival," from May 8 to 10, 2026. The free three-day event takes place at Plateia Katechaki, near the Venetian Harbor in the old town of Chania. The festival focuses on Cretan gastronomy, local culture, and experiential tourism, showcasing traditional food, producers, and activities that highlight the island's heritage. Now in its fourth year, the event has become a regular fixture on Chania's spring calendar. Visitors in western Crete during that weekend can attend the outdoor festival to sample local cuisine and connect with Cretan traditions in a central, walkable location.
