Sailing Vessel Collides With Moored Boats at Chania's Venetian Harbor

Friday, 12 June 2026/SourceFlashnews/1 min read
A sailing vessel collided with several moored boats while attempting to dock at the Venetian Harbor in Chania. The incident occurred in the historic old harbor area, one of the most visited waterfront destinations in western Crete. Fortunately, no injuries were reported and no fuel or oil pollution resulted from the collision. Damage appears to have been limited to the vessels involved. The Venetian Harbor remains fully accessible to visitors and normal activity has continued without disruption. Tourists exploring the waterfront promenade, the iconic lighthouse, and the surrounding tavernas and shops should not experience any impact from the incident. If you are arriving by private boat or charter, harbor authorities may be conducting additional checks in the area following the accident.
