Platanias Donates Bicycles to Enhance Tourist Police Patrol Capacity

Friday, 22 May 2026/SourceFlashnews/1 min read
The Municipality of Platanias has donated two service bicycles to the Tourist Police of Chania, strengthening the unit's capacity to patrol and assist visitors across the region. The Tourist Police in Chania are a dedicated force focused on helping tourists with directions, safety concerns, lost documents, and general assistance during their stay. With the addition of these bicycles, officers can now cover pedestrian zones, coastal paths, and busy areas more efficiently, particularly during the summer season when foot traffic increases significantly. Tourists in the Chania area can approach Tourist Police officers for help in multiple languages. The Platanias municipality, located along the northwest coast of Crete roughly 11 kilometers from Chania city, is one of the island's most popular resort areas, making improved police mobility a practical benefit for the many visitors who holiday there each year.
