Back to newsThe Agrotikos Avgoustos (Agricultural August) festival returns to the Apokoronas region of Crete this summer, running from July 24 at the G. Papadakis park. This annual event celebrates local rural culture and showcases the agricultural traditions of the area, with vendors, producers, and artisans typically presenting regional products including olive oil, honey, herbs, and handmade goods. Apokoronas is located in the Chania regional unit, in the northwestern part of the island, roughly 25 to 30 kilometers east of Chania city. The festival is free to attend and offers visitors a genuine look at Cretan village life away from the main tourist centers. It is a good opportunity to taste and purchase authentic local products directly from producers.
