Heraklion MP Eleni Vatsina has raised concerns in the Greek parliament about firefighting resources being drawn away from Crete during the active fire prevention season. She submitted a formal question to the Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, highlighting that Crete is being used as a staffing pool to reinforce fire services elsewhere in Greece, potentially leaving the island with reduced coverage at its most vulnerable time of year.
