Heraklion Completes City Centre Road Works, More Disruption Expected

The Municipality of Heraklion has completed road resurfacing works on Dimokratias and Kleanthis streets in the city centre. The works were carried out by the municipality's technical department as part of an ongoing infrastructure improvement programme. Resurfacing on Pindarou street is scheduled to continue on Friday 13 June and Monday 15 June, so drivers and visitors travelling through that area should expect some disruption and allow extra time. Temporary lane restrictions or detours may be in place during working hours. For tourists renting cars or using taxis to navigate central Heraklion, it is advisable to check local signage and follow directions from road workers on site. The improvements will result in better road quality across several key streets in the city once the programme is complete.
