Greece Faces Drug Shortages; Tourists Urged to Bring Medications

Friday, 8 May 2026/SourceCretaOne/1 min read
Greece's National Medicines Organization (EOF) has published an updated list of medications currently facing supply shortages across the country, including Crete. Among the affected drugs are Zolotrin, ZAOFER, and MELDOZ. Tourists traveling to Crete who rely on these or other prescription medications are advised to bring a sufficient supply from home, as pharmacies may not be able to source certain drugs locally. It is also recommended to carry a copy of your prescription and the generic (active ingredient) name of any medication, as Greek pharmacists may be able to suggest an available equivalent. For up-to-date shortage information, the EOF publishes its list on its official website.
