Back to newsPlanned power outages will affect several areas across Crete on Saturday, April 25, as the Greek electricity distribution operator DEDDIE carries out scheduled maintenance, reinforcement, and network upgrade works. The interruptions are temporary and part of routine infrastructure improvements.
If you are staying in affected areas, expect disruptions to electricity-dependent services such as air conditioning, hot water systems, and charging facilities for part of the day. Hotels and larger accommodations typically have backup generators, but smaller guesthouses or rental properties may not.
It is advisable to check with your accommodation host whether your area is affected and to charge devices in advance. Carrying cash is also recommended, as card payment terminals and ATMs may be out of service during the outage. DEDDIE aims to complete works and restore power within the scheduled window.
