Back to newsBusiness owners in Chania's old town are calling on the municipality to extend the operating hours of its electric bus service. The current schedule does not cover the full working hours of staff employed in the historic centre's shops, restaurants, and hospitality businesses, leaving hundreds of workers without reliable public transport options at the start and end of their shifts. The request asks the city to add more departures, particularly in early morning and late evening slots. For tourists, the electric buses are a convenient and free way to move around the old town area. If the extended schedule is approved, visitors may benefit from more frequent connections between the harbour district and other parts of the city throughout the day.
