Back to newsThe Municipal Water and Sewerage Enterprise of Chania (OAK) has reported an emergency fault in its water supply network affecting the Kerameia area of Chania. The disruption began Sunday afternoon and is expected to continue while repair works are carried out. During this period, water pressure across the affected network will be reduced or unstable.
Tourists staying in or around Kerameia should expect limited water pressure or intermittent supply until repairs are completed. It is advisable to store water for basic needs, check with your accommodation provider for updates, and avoid unnecessary water use where possible. OAK has not yet confirmed a timeline for full restoration. Visitors in other parts of Chania are not currently affected. Locals and guests in the area are encouraged to monitor official announcements from the municipality for further updates.
