The situation escalated to the point where a police officer who intervened was injured and required hospital treatment after the aircraft landed at Chania International Airport. Greek authorities were present at the airport upon arrival to manage the situation. The two women were detained following the landing. Flights to and from Chania continued to operate normally, and there were no reported delays to other services. Travelers flying into Chania should be aware that disruptive passenger behavior is taken seriously under Greek aviation law and can result in criminal charges.
