Local organizations in Chania will hold a commemorative event marking the 71st anniversary of the start of the EOKA liberation struggle (1955-1959), a pivotal moment in Cyprus's fight for independence from British colonial rule. The event is jointly organized by the Metropolitan Church of Kydonia and Apokoron, the Regional Unit of Chania, the Municipality of Chania, and the Association of Cypriots of Chania.
