Venetian Castle Hike Rethymno

A 3 km walk through the old town of Rethymno up to the Fortezza, the largest Venetian fortress in Crete built in 1573. The path winds through the old town's narrow alleys past mosques, minarets, and Venetian loggia. Entirely paved and easy. The Fortezza charges a small entrance fee and offers sweeping sea views. Best all year round. Plenty of cafes and restaurants in the old town.
